1974 Eastcoast Australia was belted by a huge intense low that left a trail of coastal damage in its wake. One of the worst affected was North Cronulla which saw huge swells tear up the promenade and original wall. I remember surfing when the ocean bottom was still lined with random huge chunks of concrete and steel girders for many months afterwards.

Cronulla’s beach front has been rocked on many occasions from brutal storms over the decades but probably none so much as the damage done to Northies and The Wall during that massive storm in the mid Seventies.
