For a while living surf legend Kelly Slater boasted he wanted to surf Shark Island but for a longtime he never got the chance. A few years back he finally got his wish late one arvo just before dark. The waves  were clean and glassy and to the pleasure of those watching he even came face to face with the Islands notorious reef.
