1974 Eastcoast Australia was belted by a huge intense low that left a trail of coastal damage in its wake. One of the worst affected was North Cronulla which saw huge swells tear up the promenade and original wall. I remember surfing when the ocean bottom was still lined with random huge chunks of concrete and steel girders for many months afterwards.

North Cronulla Alley has always attracted its fair share of young surf rats who excel quickly in the Rip bowl thanks to its consistency. In the late 80’s 2 of the best Groms on the rise was Jenna and Andy King seen here having a typical schoolboy daydream.
