This frame grab from the movie 2 which is coming now in 2011 would have to be one if not the heaviest waves ever surfed at Solander. It looks more like Shipsterns .With the rocks in close proximity of the takeoff zone, to fall now would be death.

Ox and brother Speg are two of Cronulla’s most hardcore surfers. Throughout their surf careers they have lived to get barreled. Usually it was Shark Island and Voodoo you could find the pair going wave for wave on the biggest meanest days. Ox was always the first out and when you rocked up later it was “You missed it”. This shot of Greg was taken a few years back at Solander . While the Bra Boys seem to get all the credit the local boys hold there own as well. Ox has been through a tough patch health wise in his life lately but he’s a charger and will pullin in to kegs like this in no time soon once again. Photo Craig Stroh

The Griggs family is a Cronulla Surfing institution thanks to all 3 brothers who all surf hard. The oldest brother Michael was an Aussie School boy champ when he teamed up with Craig Stroh and won the title for Woolooware High in the early 90’s. Middle brother Matt is the best known. He was a rising WCT surfer, a surf writer and Rip Curls team manager who has now turned his hand to coaching. Then there is young Andy in the pic below who on his day could give his older siblings a lesson or two in water slaughtering. This shot taken early 2000 by Craig Stroh

Long before The Bra Boys took over Solander and called it Ours and claimed it for themselves, a few Kurnell and Cronulla surfers had been riding there quietly for years and keeping it a secret. I first saw Steve Austin surfing there in the early 90s. This shot of local Elouera ripper Joel Bonning was taken sometime around early 2000 on a sizeable day at Middles. Joels stalling for this thick lipped beast. photo Craig Stroh

Fletch Haylar reputation as a ripper needs no introduction. Big or small waves he will throw down the moves when it counts and doesnt mind a heavy barrel or two. This shot of Fletch was taken early 2000 at solid Voodoo Rights. pic CSP

Keelan started surfing age10 at The Alley Rip bowl following in the footsteps of his dad.Keelan was a standout early and won the Cronulla Board riders club championship in 2003. He had a dig on the WCT as well. This pic was snapped at the Alley around mid 2000s, not bad for a Jannali boy pic CSP
