Grigsy loves Voodoo and if he’s not travelling around the globe or up and down the coast he rarely misses a session. This backside blast was snapped sometime around the late 90’s by Craig Stroh.

Gooch is one of those natural talented surfers who could have taken his surfing much further had he wanted to. In ’91 he was EBC Club champion then in ’92 and ’95 he was CBC Open Champ. Also in ’91 Gooch entered the history books winning the Alley Masters event. Instead of chasing the Pro dream Gooch saved his best for his free surfing sessions along the beachies at home. Today Gooch is still ripping just as hard as always. Water angle photo Craig Stroh late 90’s.

In 1993 Tracks ran a feature on Len Thick who at 75 years of age was described as Cronulla’s oldest grom. Len was a common site at Cronulla surfing his mal at The Point or up the beach on a daily basis easily recognisable by his white hat. Len began surfing in the 60’s at age 45 and has rarely missed a day when these images were taken. Photos by John Veage.

Everyone loves a Point wipeout when the waves are pumping. In the old days the headland was packed to the max with every blade of grass covered and the crowd used to hoot the best rides. Even the boaties would try there luck as well in the big swells. On this day in January 1978 the Clubbie boys got hammered as they took off and got smashed. Photo by Rob King
