Hosted by 2JJ with headline acts like Midnight Oil, Inx’s, Machinations and Mi-Sex the bands played in the rain at Wanda Beach to a huge crowd. Midnight Oils Peter Garrett walked out on stage in Speedo’s and a surfboard under his arm and screamed “I’m ready” and and launched into No Times For Games. Below Armistice Day from the concert.

Patto began his shaping career in the Cronulla area approx 30 years ago in the early 80’s and since those early days working at Force 9 and then branching out with his own PCC Surfboard label has developed a reputation as one of Australia’s top shapers and progressive design thinkers. A powerhouse surfer who spent most of his surf time at Wanda Beach. Growing up in the Clubby ranks Scotty was a natural water-man who could win local amateur comps as well as turn on whenever the waves were firing. Below Scotty at The Point in ’84.

Wanda Sand Dunes ’81

Its hard to accept that so much natural sand has been removed from the Wanda dunes leaving just a shadow of what was once a unique part of the area.
