Captain Cook Bridge

It’s 50 years since the opening of the Captain Cook Bridge. This shot taken just after the opening. Before the bridge was opened you would have to catch the punt across the river or use the Tom Uglys Bridge. Notice the board on the racks of the lead car, the lack of trees along the centre of the road, and when the old Caringbah Hospital was easily the tallest building on the horizon.
