Boogs was one of Rusty, Sparky and Jeremy Hrbacs big wave sparring partners. It was always a contest to see how far these guys could push themselves in the ocean.Throughout the 90’s when the swell was pumping they would be out there on the horizon chasing the craziest waves they could find. Steve Core has been in involed in many aspects of surfing including Surf mags, photography,retail shop and movie producer. Around 1969 to 1970 Steve also dabbled with his own surfboard brand with Frank Latta as head shaper and team rider at Taren Point.

In 1980 Elouera Boardriders Club held its first year of local competition. A former young cheeky ex clubbie named Jason won the first club Open Championship. Jason below Photo Chris Stroh.

Gordon and Smith had a huge profile in the mid seventies attracting the best local surfers and shapers plus many international stars to wave the G&S flag. In the 80’s Jim Banks began his serious travel adventures disappearing to exotic wave locations in uncharted waters all around the globe. Banksy would return home with great tales of wave discoveries and adventures inspiring countless other surfers to hit the highway. Most photos you see of Rusty Moran he is going right. On a good sized day at Pipe in Hawaii while trying to pick off the bombs at Backdoor Rusty found himself in perfect position to snavel an inside Bansaii barrel from the hungry pack, Photo Stroh taken around winter 94/95

Throught the 80’s Gary Green and photographer Peter Simons hooked up on many occasions to come up with the photographic goods. From memory this shot of Greeny smacking off the top for Piping Hot was taken on a trip to the desert region of South Oz.
