Richard Spike James

Spike was one of the top grom competitors in the early 80’s. While most of his peers chased trophies young Spike showed a real passion for Cronulla’s powerful barrels and earned a reputation as a charger at The Point and the Island . This shot of Spike was taken around the same time at first reef Point early morning on a smaller fun size day photo Stroh.

Dave Mattison

Dave has been working at Jackson Surfboards since the early 70’s and became a co owner along with Jim Parkinson in the mid 80’s . Dave specializes in restorations  and does the sprays on the boards.photo Jackos.

Tim Vanderlaan

Jim Parkinson

Richard Herbert

Herbie shaped under the Huzza Wuzza custom  label for surfboard brands like G&S, Waterforce and Emerald and had a strong following around Cronulla. He was a regular standout at The Point and Shark Island in the 70’s and 80’s and had a reputation for charging. He passed away due to health problems in 2006. Laurie Froggy Bryne
