William is probably best remembered for his shaping role at Southern Comfort Surfboards in the 70’s, another of the Cronulla crew who died before his time. Photo of William taken by Ross Marshall at Ulladulla.

Surfing runs in the family and Wayne was always a regular at The Point and Shark Island. I remember one particular swell in the 80’s when Wayne wiped out on a big day at The Point and was knocked unconscious. Luckily Glenn Pringle saw it happen and went to the rescue and pulled him up and the South Cronulla Lifeguards gave him CPR and brought him back around.Photo taken at SI by Greg Button Circa 80’s.

The Last Picture Show

1974 Cronulla Cinemas became home to The Last Picture Show venue. On Friday nights they played the latest Surf Movies at $1.50 entry. Saturday nights was band night with the best Aussie talent like The LaDeDas, Sherbert, Stevie Wright Band,Tamam Shud, Flake, Matt Taylor and heaps more talent entry was $1.40.
