Cronulla’s surfing royalty gathered at Shoes to witness the unveiling of a plaque recognizing Sandshoes as a National Surfing Reserve. Much thanks to Sutherland Shire Surfing and Sutherland Shire Council who’s efforts made it happen.

Chris was one of the first crew who surfed Shoes in the 60s. After riding Surf o planes at Shelly Beach Pipeline he graduated on the longboard to Sandshoes. Chris remembers Ray Dags Greenaway as the first to wear sandshoes to protect his feet from urchins.
