Successful contest promoter and newspaper scribe who was responsible for bringing all the Pro Comps like The Surfabout, Straight Talk and Night Surfing events to Cronulla in the 70’s and 80’s. Syd still manages to grab a wave at his local spot Sandshoes when the opportunity arises.
