June 11th 2011 at Club Cronulla (RSL) there’s a reunion for all the old Point crew. The last get together 6 years back around 80 turned up and organisers are hoping for even more. Below is Gerry “Popout” Manion racing the barrel on a mid size day out The Point early 80’s Photo by Chris Stroh

During the 70, 80’s and 90’s Butto was one of Cronulla’s top water photographers. It was Gregs shot of Gerry Manion at The Point that introduced the surf world to Cronulla’s ample wave power. Besides photography Butto was also pretty skilled and riding his kneelo and was a regular pulling in at The Point and Island. This shot of Butto was taken at The Point in the late 70’s by Chris Stroh

Dane Wilson is one of the best of the longboard new school who began winning and dominating mal events all around the world. His first big victory was the Aussie Jnr title in ’95 and he continued with an impressive list of titles to his credit including the Qld Mal Championships in 2000. He’s a stylish rider who can also rip it up on short boards. Images below were taken at Cronulla Point by Craig Stroh

Tim has been a longtime Point regular as well as an adventurer who has spent plenty of his time treking around the globe in search of waves. During a large chunk of the 90’s Tim lived in Hawaii surfing Sunset and loves riding large boards. Tim even made a video about his Jungle adventurers. Easily recognisable by his wetsuit head warmer that he rarely surfs without GM is an underground charger who pulls in with the best of them. He’s always chasing big swells on the horizon on his jet ski. This pic lining up a Cronulla Point cavern taken in the 90’s by Stroh
