The Point has long been a haven for unconventional surf-craft. In the 60’s it was bodysurfers and Paipo riders.During the 70’s Mat and Kneeboard riders were a regular fixture in the lineup and Rob McLaggan was a familiar face riding his Greenough inspired Spoon Kneelos. Rob was also producing Kneeboards for the local crew under The Customline label.

Ross Marshall was in blitzing form at the Pro Junior held at Narrabeen in ’78. Regarded as the stepping stone into the pro ranks Ross placed 3rd while eventual winner was Tom Carroll. Photo Simon Chipper from the pages of Tracks.

Rusty Moran is one of Cronulla’s big wave fanatics , he’s risked life and limb to surf some outrageous life threatening waves all around the world throughout his career.
