Keith Paull and Peter Clarke Surfboards

Keith Paull was one of the highest profile Aussie surfers of the 60’s moved to Cronulla from the Goldcoast  in ’66 and rode and shaped for Peter Clarke Surfboards until ’68 eventually moving to the Northside factory. This adv from Surfing World in 68.

Bob Hansen was one of the head shapers at the Gordon and Smith factory in the early 70’s at Taren Point.Currently resides on the Central Coast.

Rob Mc Claggan handcrafted these kneeboard spoons from the Jackson surfboard factory in the 70,s and 80’s. Each spoon was a work of art made from scratch by Rob himself. This shot was taken in May 1979. In the backgound of the photo you can see a rack full of 9’6″ Shane surfskis with the square shaped front and back…they were the curse of the short boarder.Photo and words Tim Vanderlaan.

Mick started his career as a serious contest surfer but it wasn’t long before he got a taste of Cronulla’s reef power and gave the coloured singlets away. In no time at all he grew a strong reputation for his “take no prisoners” style of charging. This shot taken late 80’s at The Island when Mick stood out from the pack photo Chris Stroh
